Kathleen M. Angustia, Principal Attorney and Founder
Since 2003, Kate Angustia has devoted her legal career to Immigration and Nationality law, serving a range of clientele throughout the world from multinational corporations and their employees to private individuals undergoing the U.S. immigration process. Her practice is focused on advising clients and preparing filings related to immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications, including a broad range of employment-based immigration matters, family-based immigration matters and naturalization cases.
With a commitment to giving back to her surrounding community, Kate served as a selected member of the AILA Liaison Committee to the United States Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Service Port in Boston, Massachusetts, and as a selected member of the AILA Washington D.C. Chapter Citizenship Day Committee. Additionally, she has volunteered at immigration clinics organized by AILA and by other nonprofit organizations. Kate is privileged to collaborate with other attorneys who are seeking optimal legal outcomes for their clients through sharing knowledge and best practices. Toward that end, Kate has participated as a panelist on immigration-related topics at national and local venues for audiences comprised of immigration attorneys, advocates, and clients. She served as a discussion panelist in December 2010 for an ILW.Com seminar entitled, "Physicians for Experts, Immigrant Options Specifically for Physicians," and she co-authored an article entitled, "H-1Bs for Physicians," published in Immigration Options for Physicians, 3rd Ed., March 2009. Prior to founding KMA Law Offices, from 2003 through 2010, Kate worked at Ross Silverman LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, which was named a First-Tier law firm in the area of Immigration Law in Boston in the 2010 U.S. News Best Law Firms rankings. Kate was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2003, and her practice outside of the state of Massachusetts is limited to Immigration and Nationality Law. As an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, she has immediate access to important changes in Immigration and Nationality law, policy, and procedure. |
